Live Preview Manchester United 'The Red Devils'

Manchester United is the most successful Premier League club having won the title 12 times. It all began in 1993 when Sir Alex Ferguson has put an end to wait 26 years to lift the Premier League crown.

The signing of Eric Cantona for £ 1.2 m from Leeds United proved a masterstroke, as the French helped win the title, the likes of Gary Pallister, Denis Irwin, Ryan Giggs and Paul Ince.

United retained the trophy the following season and won titles easily in 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003. More money was added to the trophy case of the Red Devils with the growing success of the FA Cup in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2004 and League Cup wins in 1992 and 2006.

Perhaps the most memorable moment in team history was the treble-winning season of 1999 when they added the Champions League trophy to the league title and FA Cup.

Chelsea briefly broke dominant win the league in 2005 and 2006. But the 2006/07 season, the Red Devils roared back to return to the Barclays Premiership.

I went to a better 2007/08, enjoying the most successful campaign since winning the treble. They saw the challenge of Chelsea and Arsenal to win a thrilling race for the Barclays Premier League title and won the Blues on penalties in the Champions League final after a 1-1 draw between the parties in Moscow.

In 2008/09, United did a hat-trick of titles, also won the Carling Cup, but narrowly missing out to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

They kept the Carling Cup in 2010, but finished one point behind Chelsea in the Premier League after a career that was tense until the last day of the campaign.

However, they recovered to retrieve the Barclays Premier League title in 2011, finishing nine points clear of Chelsea and Manchester City. They also reached the final of the Champions League, and took in Barcelona at Wembley but lost 3-1.
